Actually, yes. Unfortunately yes. You are very much up. You've been up. You were almost asleep and then your phone lit up the entire ceiling and now you're up, your heart is doing that stupid thing, and your rational brain is sprinting down the hallway trying to catch up with your emotions before you do something you'll have to explain to your best friend tomorrow morning.

"You up?"

Not "hey I miss you." Not "I've been thinking about us." Not even a basic "can we talk." Just two words and a question mark from someone who only remembers you exist after midnight when all their better options have gone to sleep.

Slap that baby in your warmer since you can't slap the man. And put your phone face down.
